Dollywood By the Sea?
Ocean City, Maryland, came to LindaK and me more as an afterthought than as an inspiration, but we were delighted at what we found.
Most of what we'd been experiencing so far on this little vacation was as close to natural as a coastal village/town/city could provide in Crisfield, Assateague, Chincoteague, Eastern Shore could provide. Ocean City was another dimension, more Dollywood than Forest.

Some butts were covered better than others. |
LindaK expressed concern that Ocean City's reputation for being dirty and dangerous from a few years ago still held true. It didn't. Not by a lot. It is clean, family-oriented, well-maintained and a heck of a lot of fun, especially if you like to watch people.
Some of the young women's bathing suits proved especially interesting to me, but the battery in my Nikon gave out before I could record those suits and the bottoms under them for posterity (or posterior). It was one of those rare occasions where I failed to pack a backup battery.
Still, we got some pretty good shots of the flavor of Ocean City (which is sweet, greasy, salty, tasty, and completely unhealthy).
The boardwalk is a good place to visit, a superb place to walk if you like looking at your fellow Americans in their beachy best. Here is some of what we saw.
Oh, forgot to mention: there is a lot of gambling for those who are interested. I'm not.

The beach at Ocean City (before the crowd arrives) is big, white and expansive. And busy. |

Wonder how fast this dude was going when he hit the wall. |

The rides are large, plentiful and scary (to some of us). |

LindaK found the elusive chocolate bacon. |

I found my weakness, too. |

LindaK and I ...

... paid for our overindulgence. |
