A Walk Along the Maury on a Spring Afternoon

The phlox were in bloom all along the walk with their cheerful pink, lavender and white flowers.

My friend Susan and I ran up to Lexington to take in a fall walk along the Maury River this morning and were rewarded with a glorious display of spring wildflowers, including wild phlox, which was simply lovely.

It is an easy, flat walk with the Maury running alongside and was simply made for relaxing. We took a picnic and make the day complete.

Susan found the phlox to her liking.

I'm a mushroom guy. This is a mushroom. Growing in the elbow of a tree.

Susan photographing the mushroom with her phone.

I like this photo, but it was 100 percent accidental.

This is the photo I intended for the tree.

Susan and me getting ready for the picnic. The hardest part was getting up after lying down.
